Ta-Da...the Glasses

Ok, so you remember the glasses saga in the previous posts? (Glasses post 1 and Glasses post 2) Well, here are the ones I got:

I don't take good pictures, and especially don't take good self-portraits. But, I wanted to update you on my choice.

Then, when I was there, I tried on these "pc peepers" which would solve my computer vision problem. They were 34.00 there, and already I found a pair for 16.99 online, so I will look for the best buy and get some. I know they work well since I tried them there with their computer. So, that is my new mission....

This is the description:

PC Peekers Computer Glasses

Designed by eye care professionals, these patented computer glasses assist bifocal, tri-focal and progressive lens wearers. No more bobbing your head up and down to find a perfectly focused view. Rest PC Peekers behind your prescription lenses to provide the corrective lens power for a clearer and wider field of vision. Made of polycarbonate, scratch-resistant plastic with UV protection.

Sammy Sighs

Mom caught me in the act. She's been noticing lately that her pillows on the bed are not where she left them when she gets home from work. She makes the bed first thing every day, and then comes home and its all a-mess! Today, I got caught in the act!

(Oops..they are all messed up!)

UH OH!

Sorry, Mom! I was cold. Remember, Tina and Chrissy said it was cold in the house....and you have the ceiling fan going and the window open...brr. I'm sorry!

Visitors

We had visitors Friday through Sunday! We so enjoyed having Tina come from Dubois and Chrissy and Chloe from North Platte. It was so much fun having them here!

Sammy Sighs

Wow, Mom said there is going to be a dog park in our town. I'm sore excited. Oh, but what is a dog park? Will other dogs be there? Will I have to be friendly? What if I don't like them? What if Sissy is her usual silly self and embarasses me? What if Mom makes me wear a stupid shirt?

Oh, no, I am not so sure about this bark park thing! I am getting an ulcer, I think......

Memories from last weekend...

I finally got my pictures uploaded from the trip to Wyoming last weekend where we attended our nephews graduation. We really enjoyed being with family, wish there had been more there. We got to finally meet some great nieces, and believe me, we fell in love with them...such little cuties! We had such a nice visit with all, and enjoyed the graduation ceremony and reception, too.

The wind is not blowing. And the sun is shining. I enjoyed a bike ride after my exercise class last night. I believe it was around 90 degrees yesterday!

The Glasses Saga

So, I took votes online, I tried glasses on and got votes at work and with various friends, and daughters, and ....

drum roll....

I chose a completely different pair when I went in to order. :-) Guess I really have trouble with decision making, huh?

I'll let you know what they look like in about 10 days or 2 weeks.

(And, yes the wind is STILL BLOWING!!!!)

Dance Recital

Good morning!

We really enjoyed Miss ChloeBean's second dance recital. She was so cute up there! Here are some photos from the weekend.(Click on text bubble in lower left corner to read captions)

Isn't she sweet? So, last night was our little dancer's first tee-ball game! I can't believe she is playing tee-ball! Her mom said she loves to bat and did really good at bat. However, in the field, instead of concentrating on catching and throwing, she made a nice dirt pile! Hee hee! That's our girl!

Happy Mothers Day out there!

I am lucky, because I have the best mom in the world. No, you don't, I do! She has always been there for me, and I can only hope that she knows she can lean on me, too. I am not going to repeat my post once again about her, but you can connect to it here:
Happy Mother's Day, Mom. Thank you mom, I love you!

I know my mom misses her mom on this Mother's Day. Part of our gift to her this year was something in memory of her mom on Mothers Day...so I hope she likes it! I wrote about my grandmas in this post: Missing Elsie and Helen.

Have a wonderful Mothers Day! I will be spending mine with my eldest daughter watching Miss Chloe in her 2nd annual dance recital!

The Trouble About It

The trouble about losing weight is wishing it would just be gone. All at once. Right now! I have been keeping at a slow pace, and continuing downward. I had a doctor appointment the other day, and she said I was doing it the right way. I know that there are clothes I could not wear last fall that I can now wear easily. That is a good marker for me. I have had a couple people mention that it looks like I lost weight, so that is nice. Of course, the people you want to notice are the ones who say nothing.

I really liked some advice given by both trainers on "The Biggest Loser" last week...in saying you have to have a balance in your life. They made so much sense. It seems like there are extremes, not only in the overeating and not exercising, but in those who never allow themselves any pleasures at all. You have to be able to enjoy that piece of wedding cake, to give yourself a break if you miss one day of your regimen. I hope I can learn the balance, but I do agree, I am doing it slowly but surely, and if I have a treat here and there, I won't go bezerk. I will just get right back into my routine. That seems to be better than going hog wild either way.

Anyway, I won't be winning the weight loss contest here at work; I have heard of a couple people with big losses. I also heard of some doing all these cleanses, taking meds, etc. I just want to do things the healthy way, and I guess if I don't win the contest, I will win with myself anyway.

Hanging in there.....

Sammy Sighs

I think Mom found out how lucky she is today. She was watching the show "My Dog or Me?" as she was getting ready for work, and there was this dog on there that had severe separation anxiety. He would open the fridge and drag stuff out, and eat it, plastic and all, make a big mess, etc. Then he would howl and bark and carry on while they were gone. At least Sissy only chews out her own hair!

Have a great (WINDY) Friday!

Help Me Choose

Pick which pair you like best and leave me a comment, please! Number 1 and 2 is the same pair....I can't get these to not show the glare without turning a bit...sorry.

To Explain....

I have a photo in the slideshow on my previous post that shows some National Guard getting their picture taken. I just thought it was kinda neat, and yet kinda strange, that this gal had asked them to line up and take their photos! (Guernsey is a training base for National Guard, and these guys were going thru the Hartville/Sunrise area on Sunday.)....here is one of the photos up closer...just so you can see. I don't know why I thought that was odd, butI did! Maybe because I grew up with them around all summer?

Weekend Memories

We sure enjoyed our visit with our folks this weekend! We don't get to go do that nearly often enough. We spent the day Saturday with my folks in Guernsey. We got there mid morning. It was rainy there, just like at home! We called my sis, and we all went out for lunch. It was yummy, and we had a nice visit there too. The place we ate at is a place I worked at in high school...with many changes and renovations since then! We enjoyed just visiting at my parent's home all afternoon, and my mom made some of my hubby's favorite foods for supper...fried chicken and cherry pie! My sister came over for supper, too, and we all visited a while, which was really great..I enjoyed it all so much! Then, as I posted, we watched that movie (Disturbia) ...yikes!~ Sunday morning, I went to church with my mom...you probably remember how much I love my "hometown church", right? And, I did enjoy being there again. John had headed up to Hartville to visit his mom, and I went up after church. During the course of the day, we got to see and visit with three of his brothers and some of their kids, too. It was so nice. Of course, got more good food up there, pork chili, fresh tortillas, etc., and later, caldo (a soup). We had such a nice visit with everyone. Click on the slideshow below (click on lower left corner to view captions) for a small slideshow of memories of the weekend!

Movie

While in Wyoming this weekend visiting, we watched a movie with my folks. Dad has a Netflix subscription, and he gets good use of it! We were going to watch Australia, but found it was going to be nearly 3 hours long, and it was too late to watch it, so we watched "Disturbia". OMG, I screamed and jumped a few times. I know, I know, it's not that scary, but I just don't watch suspenseful things without jumping, screaming, and then covering my ears and eyes (at the same time). It was a pretty good movie, though, and I didn't have any nightmares. Whew!

Whew...

I was in Kearney for two days last week, Thursday and Friday. Then, we got up and ran to visit our folks in Wyoming Saturday morning and returned today. We had such a GREAT visit, and I will be posting during the week about both trips.

In the meantime, although I am thankful for the rain, I was singing "Rain, Rain, Go Away!" and it has quit now. The sun shone a while late this afternoon! Yay!
