Vacation Part 2

After a day at home after our trip to Dubois, we headed to Guernsey/Hartville to visit our parents, which are Chloe and Brooklyn's GREAT grandparents, of course. (GREAT in many, many ways, that is!) Brooklyn loves to fish with his great grandpa. Chloe got to fish for the first time with them as well (last year she went, but just kinda hung out for a while). They had a blast.

They were surprsingly patient and enjoyed the area as well as the fishing. We could see the fish jumping in the lake as we watched. There were campers and other fisher"people" around to see as well. Chloe got to help reel in Great Grandpa's big carp....
and it didn't even scare her. She didn't mind touching worms either...but drew the line at the slimy moss that was on the line a couple times! (I can't say I blame her, although I bucked up and took it off for her!

Brooklyn caught two carp! (We didn't keep any carp, but it was fun for them to catch them...) and was proud because he "outfished" Great Grandpa...although Great Grandpa also really caught two because he also caught a "shad", which is a small fish about the size of a big minnow! (He must have snagged it reeling in..but it was so funny to see that tiny little fish on his line. :o) )

Awww...contentment...they had a lot of fun fishing. We had a full heart just being there with them. Who can resist these faces?

Vacation

We were able to take Chloe Bean and Brooklyn to visit Tina and Adam in Dubois last week. We headed out of Nebraska on Friday and came back on Tuesday. We had a wonderful time there. We got to see some wildlife, only not nearly as much as when we visited in April. We drove over to Yellowstone for a day, and saw Old Faithful and the National Park. We visited Jackson Hole. We saw Sinks Canyon near Lander. We had a blast. We enjoyed the mountains and the fresh mountain air. We enjoyed the scenery. We loved seeing Tina, Adam, Ruger and Sophie. The kids loved every minute. I think they loved being at their house just as much as the sites and places we saw. They loved climbing the rocks near their back yard, going out and finding rocks, hanging out with Tina and Adam (Brooklyn sang the song "Adam's Number 1" several times), and they said Tina was the best auntie ever. Chloe was quoted as saying "This is the best time of my life". She is 5. We made many wonderful memories. I can't cover all we did in my post, but you will be able to catch up with the photos. Later in the week, we went to visit their great grandparents...I will write about that part tomorrow. I will post the link to all of the photos soon, I have a few more to put on. But, here are a couple to see from the first leg of our vacation in the meantime.

Movie

Brooklyn and I attended the movie "G Force" last night. Yes, I passed up going to see my long awaited "My Sisters Keeper" to instead have a movie date with my grandson. I can see my movie some other time. Having him as a movie date is much more fun. It was a cute movie. He loves all the 3D movies...and I tell you, the effects are something. Ok, ok, the movie has these little gophers that are Special Agents. Even a fly is trained. Oh, and don't forget the mole (who was a mole in more ways than one), and yes, the cockroaches. Yikes! But, it was cute...very cute. We had a fun time!

I'm Back....

....from visiting family and seeing sights with our two grandchildren. Back from learning all kinds of things like "the dinosaurs are instinct, grandma!" and "we are sleeping in sleepover bags" and "a lamborgini can go over 200 miles per hour" and "we could just teleport over to Tina's house and we'd just be there" and so much more...so I have lots of stories to tell...lots of blogging fodder to share! Meanwhile, just look at this innocent giant jackalope....I am telling you, it's evil...purely evil....

Work, Work

Brooklyn has been coming to work with me this week and for two days last week. I got permission to come in a bit later to accommodate having him here and it has gone well. I brought in some movies for him to watch, and he knows how to do so much on the computers that he has shown me some tips and tricks! He knows a lot about a MAC computer...ha! Kids know so much these days! Anyway, he calls it "bring your grandson to work days". He goes to the pool in the afternoon which is only a skip and jump from my office door. Today is the last day he'll come to work as I start my time off tomorrow! I think he'll sleep in tomorrow longer!

Chloe Bean gets to join us tomorrow too! We are going to see Tina for a few days, come home and then the kiddos get to spend some precious time with great grandparents (and us) for a few days as well. I know Brooklyn can't wait to fish, so hope the weather and everything works out! Sissy and Sammy will probably have a meltdown for a while, but we got our daughter here to come house/dog sit, so hopefully they will not be too sad, and then they get to go to see our parents with us, so they'll be happy. I may not get to blog much, but click on facebook on the right of this page and view my status..I can update by phone-- when I have service, that is....I will probably update before then, but just thinking ahead!

Movie

Brooklyn and I saw the new Ice Age movie on Sunday afternoon. It was really a cute one, and the 3D effects were awesome!

I have been patiently and patiently (well, not very patiently) waiting for "My Sister's Keeper to get here, and it still hasn't. I really want to see it! I loved the book.

Fun...

Brooklyn picked out the cake for his grandpa's birthday. I thought you may get a chuckle out of a grown man getting a "transformers" ice cream cake for his 54th birthday! We had this on Friday, my hubby's birthday...

Brooklyn is making one of his "photo faces'''....love that stage, huh?

Happy Birthday!

Happy, happy Birthday to our Tina! Hope she has a wonderful day! We get to see soon! We Love You!

Catching Up...

Wow, I haven't written things in a while. Having Brooklyn here is my priority and I am enjoying time spent with him, knowing the days will end before we are ready. I am also looking forward to getting our little Chloe Bean next week....I can't wait! I think we may get her a week from today! Yippee! She will then get to be with us for about 10 days! I will be in heaven having my two little ones together with me!

Yesterday, it got to be late after exercise and we just ordered a pizza for supper....lazy me. Then, I was picking up and noticed how dirty the kitchen carpet was. UGH! Horrible...once again the pigs have been living here??? So, I decided to drag out the steam cleaner and clean it. Great thing to do on a hot summer night, right.?? Especially when the humidity is high....real, real good idea! Ha! Anyway, I was cleaning away for a long while. Brooklyn was outside riding around the block and hubby was watching tv. This house we live in has bad electricity, so we had to turn off the swamp cooler, etc while I cleaned, which added to the hot steamy process! I went over it a couple times good, and hubby asks "are you about done"? I am thinking...geez, I am the one sweating away here....but I said, just about....but it took me a while longer, and I noticed I was getting "the look", so I winded down. Hmm....I am sure he was just worried about all that work I was doing. I still was not happy, so I went over it again this morning a couple times. I think it looks much better. Note: Remember to not ever do this when hubby is sitting in the next room. And maybe not when it is hot and humid????

Have a good day....maybe I have watched a little bit too much "Clean House" lately?

It was fun!

We had a great time visiting in Wyoming over the holiday weekend. I will write more as the week goes on.

This photo shows just part of the fireworks we all had in Hartville..yikes!

Hope you all had a great time too!

Whew....

June is now over. The dreaded NSSRS reports are all done for work. I am happy to say I got every single error cleaned up on the ones I did! It is a painstaking chore, but it is done! July will provide new projects, but I am going to take a day or two to catch up before I tackle a new big project. And, last night called for two, not one, glasses of wine....
