There is a baby in the house.
A puppy, yes, but a baby nonetheless.
Reminding everyone how cute she is, I was more than truthful when I said it was temporary insanity that led me to bring her home. It had to be.
Remember, though, again, she is SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO cute.
Saturday night, I came home from painting all day at Tina's. Sammy and Sissy were so excited to see me. You'd have thought I'd been gone for weeks. Made me feel so special. Wherever I went, they went. They had to sit right by me, one on each side.
They played a while. At bedtime, things were normal. Sissy went in her kennel just fine. She usually sleeps in there all night, no problems, getting up around 5. Then, she screeches and whines, and we have to get her outside to potty. By WE, I mean ME, of course. And, if I move, Sammy gets up too. So, there we go OUTSIDE. I guess, I don't really go outside, but you know, I have to open the door and feel that cold air as well…brr. Let me tell you, it's been really cold. And, no I don't put sweaters on them to go out at that time of day. I'm lucky to be up and moving. And, Sissy doesn't think she can pee in a sweater. Well, anyway, out they go. This is the same thing as every night. Then, she'll usually cuddle up and sleep until 6 or so. Well, this is Sunday morning, and I'm thinking to myself…hey, maybe I 'll get to sleep until 7? So, back to bed we all go.
She doesn't want to cuddle. She wants to play. She wants nothing to do with sleep. Now, Sammy doesn't want her near him during his sleep time. Sissy wants to be near him. So, they are moving around - her to be close, him to get away. I give her the little teddy bear, hoping she'll play with it. NOPE, she wants to annoy me. (or so that's how I feel.) So, I resort to the little chew bone, trying to occupy her. Well, that would be fine, except Sammy now wants it. So, John, being ever so helpful, says, maybe get Sammy his own chew bone. So, happily, I jump up and bounce to the kitchen. (you can just see me doing this, right?) I get out a chew bone and bring it to Sammy. Problem solved? NOPE. Sissy wants Sammy's bone, Sammy wants Sissy's bone. They go around, and finally trade. Hmm…maybe they'll settle down. Wrong again. Sammy is CRUNCHING on the stolen bone, since it is so small he can actually crunch and chew it. Sissy chews a while and then starts fighting with her bone. I mean, does a bone fight back? She growls at it, throws it, talks to it, plays with it. It would be really really cute, but then, not at this time of day…really now. To make a long story short, I finally gave up and got up.
Don't forget, they are SOOOOO cute!
Sunday night I returned again from painting, greeted wonderfully, by two cute loving dogs. (
I played with them, and they seemed tired too so I decided I'd go to bed early and get some rest. I went to bed about
Back to bed. I put her back in the kennel…
The screeching and whining continues. John, again, with his wisdom, ever so helpful, says…put the chew bone in her kennel. She really didn't think she should stop crying, and Sammy then is on the outside of the kennel trying to somehow get that bone. The noise continues. I try to cuddle with her again. She squirms. She wiggles. She tries to get to Sammy. Sammy growls. Sammy runs to the other side. Sissy tries to go with Sammy. I try to be in control. I have no control. I put Sissy down on the floor. She whines. She squeals. She tries to jump on the bed…of course, all I hear is little feet trying to climb up…to no avail. This continues until I get up and lock them both out.
I can then hear them running around playing. I try to think that they are not getting into any mischief. They run and play more. THEN, the whining and Sissy is trying to get back into the room. I think then ok, she can come back. I decided to get her. She cuddles. It was now between
The alarm rings.
Wow, I'm glad I went to bed early to get all that extra sleep.
Just don't forget…how cute she is.
