The Gifts

This picture is what is lying on my desk. It was a most unexpected gift from someone I work with. She has been so nice to me, and I don't even work directly for her. I was just shocked. What a nice surprise for my 51st birthday! I am so overwhelmed!

My day started out wonderfully, with phone calls, cards in the mail, visits and emails. My life is filled with many gifts, and I dont' mean like these flowers.

I have so many nice people I work with, they do little things to let you know you are cared about. I can't tell you how much I love them all...they are the best!

I have the greatest friends, who are always there for me through laughter and tears! They are all so wonderful!

I have loving and wonderful parents who continue to nurture me, even at my age! I am so lucky to have them-- I know I have the best! They love me.

I have aunts and uncles and cousins who continue to let me be their "Joanie", and love me.

I have three great sisters, all so unique and different, that I admire so much..I love them and they love me. I have nieces and nephews who are also loved and love me, they are all so special!

I have my husbands siblings that treat me like I am just another sibling, not an in-law. They love me and me them.

I have a mother-in-law who treats me like a true daughter. She loves me. I love her.

I have a husband who has been there for over 30 years, he must love me!?? :-)

I have four children who amaze me. My son, who cares deeply, who has many talents, is crazy fun and makes me smile; my three daughters- the oldest who is sensitive, loving, kind and beautiful; the next, who is deeply thoughtful, independent, loving and beautiful, and the 19 year old, who tries to be so "hard" to the world, yet shows me her inner self, surprises me with "I love you Mom" notes when I least expect it and is also beautiful. My children, my life. They love me. I love them.

And of course, my grandchildren. I can't even begin to tell you how full my heart is..they are God's greatest gifts.

Last, my dogs...loving me unconditionally every single moment.

My life is a gift. So, Happy Birthday to Me!
