It Did Snow and How!
Man, it is windy and snowy, well, a blizzard. The wind blew all night, and the snow started. First news of the day was that school was closed...whoopee...no work. But, in an email to my boss, he said if I could make it in, to come ahead as we have a lot to finish up before Friday. Since there were four other people working, I felt guilty then, so got ready. I dug out the drift by the back door and then by the front of the garage door. It was windy and wet and snowy out. I got in the car, and the streets near our house were fine, but turning the other direction, there was no visibility. And, when I got to the last corner before getting to work, I got stuck. I tried to get out on my own. I see another car on the opposite corner get stuck and yet another on the street itself. I kept trying to get out to no avail. The drifts of wet heavy snow were not helping, and I was getting all wet in the meantime. I couldn't see so I had to open the window, which caused the blowing wet snow to be hitting me in the face. I finally called the office and sheepishly told them I was stuck and they said they'd send my boss down to help. Meanwhile, an angel of a guy pushed me out after he pushed out the other two cars. It took him a bit, but he did it! I didn't even get to properly thank him because he was so cold and wet he ran to his car after helping me. But, THANK YOU! whomever you were. And, I headed straight back home to hang out with the doggies. It is not fit for man nor beast out there! Oh, and when I got home, I looked in the mirror and my eyes were all black and smeared from getting wet...I looked like a zombie or something, with my eyeliner and mascara all over. No wonder my saving angel ran to his car!
