A long journey home...

I go to say goodbye to my cousin, Sharon, this Friday.

She has been in a coma for over 40 years...imagine that?  Really about 2/3 of her life, as she was in the accident that caused this not long after her 21st birthday!   It has been a long journey home for her.   A long journey for my aunt and uncle.  A long journey for her family.  She has been greeted in heaven with loving arms from my grandparents, I just know it!   Thank you grandma and grandpa for being there at the gates to meet her.   She can now be free of the body that kept her captive for these years, and be alive with God.

Sharon was not on life support these years.   She was on a feeding tube, but that was all.  She has experienced some health problems over the years, and still remained on earth.   Her parents have been faithful to seeing her and spending time with her, loving her, caring for her all these years while she has been in a nursing home.  She was taken from us many years ago, really, but we now say goodbye to her as she enters glory.

Goodbye, my dear, beautiful cousin!   I love you...

Oh, my. Such a sad, sad post. And I do believe that she is rejoicing now. Hugs.
