Miss Pixie

Miss Pixie had to have a "Femural Head Ostectomy".   And she will have to have her other hip done as well.  This is due to a genetic hip displacement.  Poor Pixie...she has been in pain her whole life, and I never knew.   A couple months ago we started noticing her walking funny and acting like her leg was asleep.   Right ahead of the surgery, she could no longer use her back right leg.

Sissy is afraid of Pixies cone.   Good grief!
We had some snow yesterday, and Pixie was running outside (on three legs yet, but hopefully soon she'll be back on all 4), scooping the snow up with the cone and throwing it.   So funny!

Here is her right hip now:

She is doing well, and we have to do a bit of physical therapy every day.   We have to go see Drs Tom and Cody next week three times!   But, she's worth it!

She has very good vets who care a lot, so we are happy that they did a successful job, and are looking forward to many years of Pixie running and frolicking around!
