Sissy Speaks

This is Sissy.  My brother Sammy is real sick and in the hospital, and it makes Mom sad.  Please keep Sammy in your thoughts...they are running tests, but are hopeful that it is Cushings Disease...which is treatable, however, we won't know more until tomorrow.   He was pretty sick and couldn't get any air last night and it scared me and mom a lot.

Love, Sissy

Sammy Sighs

Hi!!  It is me, Sammy. You'd think Mom would let me post since she has been so very neglectful. Geezers!  I haven't got to post for a long time!

So, when Mom is at work, I nicely hide in her closet all day. Safe and sound. But look what Sissy does? She is such a silly sissy.

Sammy Sighs

Remember me?  Sammy?

I have been under the weather...not really sick, but Mom noticed I haven't been myself..kinda sluggish, dry nose, weight gain, thinning hair, etc.   So, Dr. Colleen ran some tests and found out I have a low thyroid.

I am now taking medicine and Mom thinks I seem like a whole new guy already!

Sunday, Brooklyn and Mom took us to the Dog Park.  We had a great walk and then had fun playing at the Dog Park.   I even ran and played!   Mom was so happy!

We had a really good time.  It was a great Sunday!

Sammy Sighs....

Mom seems to have forgotten what a great blogger I am.   She certainly hasn't been keeping up.    I am doing pretty good.   A couple weeks ago, we had a near perfect day....Mom and Dad took us for a ride in the car...

I LOVE riding in the car, I sit right on mom's lap and just watch everything.   I don't like to stick my head out the window because of a near accident when I stepped on the automatic window and it rolled up and scared me and mom a  lot a while back.  She thought I was going to hang myself!

I have to look at mom and see what Sissy is up to once in a while too.

Sissy doesn't know about those windows that can roll up and nearly strangle you, so she sticks her head out of the window.
She just doesn't understand, she loves sticking her head out.

After the drive, we went on  a walk and to the dog park.  Since then, we have been back to the dog park a couple times.   But, I usually stick close to Mom there, just to protect her.  It has nothing to do with me being shy and I am NOT afraid of other dogs, so there.

Friday!!

I am glad it is Friday! Even though it was a short week, it seemed long. Busy times at work! I am hoping for a nice weekend to enjoy some biking and of course, the dog park. Every night we walk the dogs, Sissy tries to cross the street there when we walk by the dog park! It is kinda cute seeing her effort to go there and play, but then I feel bad that we don't take them every day! But evenings are too short to spend time there during our walk!!

Last night, my friend, R, stopped by the house on her bike ride. That was nice, I love drop in company!!! We were just playing around on computers...well, I was trying out the new iPad....more on that later. No, I didn't buy one...they belong to the school, but we get to try them and see how we like them. I think they will have trouble getting them out of our greedy hands at the end of summer! :-)

Have a wonderful weekend!! Smile!

Sammy Sighs...

Geez, Mom hasn't let me blog in forever. Doesn't she know we doggies have lots of fun things to say? Lots of days she forgets to blog, she should let me do it!

I have been having fun going on walks because Dad has been going with us, and he walks me on my own leash, and Mom walks Silly Sissy. I am so glad because Silly Sissy is so annoying to walk with. I walk so nicely right along the path and look so proud. She still jumps around like a jitterbug because she is so happy. And, she looks stupid because she has to wear a dress ... when she doesn't she chews her hair out on her side and looks dumb with a bald spot. Mom said it's because she has anxiety when we are home alone during work days. Silly Sissy should be like me and go hide in the closet all day. That is much better then chewing out your own hair...duh!

We had Brooklyn here for three weeks, and we had a lot of fun going to the dog park and other fun things. Here are a couple pictures from the dog park. You can see our new friend, Lucy (a great Dane!) I miss him and look for him in his room still.

You can see more pictures in the online album.

Good news, I get a new cousin doggie soon...I can't wait! The bad thing is it's another silly girl, but that's ok, because that makes me the man of the family, right? I hope we meet and become really good friends. I'll probably have to teach the new puppy all kinds of things. Mom is trying to help think of a good name for the little dog, but Aunt Jo doesn't like any of her suggestions! Mom wants it to be a "S" name so the puppy ( a little black lab) will fit in with Sissy, me and Sophie (and our beloved Shelby).

Well, have a dog-gone good day! Take care and I hope to talk to you soon!

Weekend Wanderings

Have any of you watched "All About Steve"...movie with Sandra Bullock? It would not be my favorite Sandra Bullock movie, but it is pretty entertaining. I got a call that I had been drawn for a free video rental, so I went and picked out a movie. I couldn't choose, so decided on something light and funny.

Saturday was a lazy day, and I didn't do much. Sis and Sam and I did go on a walk, as it was a beautiful bright sunny day. I did a few errands and that was about it. As you can tell, I spent time looking for and tweaking a new blogger background. There are lots of fun ideas out there. It took me a while to get this one to do what I wanted, but I think I like it for now. I may still make some changes.

I got up and walked to church this morning in blowing snow! After breakfast the snow quit but it was terribly windy. However, every once in a while it really snows again for a bit. The wind is unrelenting. I decided it was a good day for chili! I have got my housework done and feel better now that things are "in order" again before another work week starts!

Have a great weekend, what is left of it!

Sammy Sighs

Hey, wow! I think its' spring.

Mom finally gave in and got out my volleyball. I love, love, love my ball! It was nice and warm out this weekend. Today (Sunday) was more windy than yesterday. But, it was still sunny as you can see by my picture.

I play "volley-soccer" with my ball:

I even gave in and let Sissy play some, because she misses playing with Sophie so much:

It was really fun, but Mom ended up putting the ball away because we were getting so tired and didn't want to quit playing.

Then, she made us take a dumb bath. But, anyway, I didn't care, because I had ever so much fun today. Then she put on my shiny blue tag on my collar that I got from Dr. Colleen the other day. I do feel proud to wear my collar, and really think my new tag is awesome. I just don't like wearing shirts, as you know. Mom has been taking me and Sissy on walks a lot now, too, since the weather has been nice. She made the walk longer, so we get pretty tired by the time we got home.

Here is a couple more "spring" pictures. I told Mom that the garage sure looks ratty and needs painted! Anyway, happy spring...for now...I know there's still some winter yet to be had, but this was great!

I got really thirsty playing ball.

Silly Sunny Sissy

I played with Sissy (Mom can't wait for "green" grass!)

Sammy Sighs

Mom is not feeling very good today, so I am taking care of her. I can really help with my doggie kisses and cuddling. We got some snow on the ground today, so I dove off the porch head first and just ran as fast as I could. It's fluffy white snow. It's kinda cold out, especially compared to the warm days we just had. Well, back to taking care of mom....

Sammy Sighs-a Follow Up

Our visit to see Dr. Colleen went pretty good. I traveled in the car really great, and yep, Mental Pause Mama, Mom did ok starting the car! Hee Hee! This is a picture of me in the car.

Silly Sissy isn't such a good traveler, but Sophie loves to ride in the car! We all did pretty good. Guess what! Dr. Colleen found that I lost a little weight and that I am very "muscular". See, I told you I am buff! Whew!

Sammy Sighs

We are off today to see Dr. Colleen. Mom said that I need some shots and Silly Sissy needs one shot. I probably get more because I'm so tuff. I just hope Dr. Collen doesn't say anything about my weight. I'm not fat. I'm not. I'm just right. And, Silly Sissy doesn't travel good in the car like I do. So, that'll be really annoying.

I guess Sophie and Tina are going too, so Sophie will be all set before her big move this weekend. Mom said maybe even Crystal will ride along. That's good, then I can sit with Crystal and not be bothered with Spazzy Silly Sissy in the car.

Sammy Sighs

Hey, hi there again. I just wanted to update you about my poor pitiful life. First of all, Sophie is moving to Wyoming in a week. So, she's living here with us (so is Tina) for one week until the move since they loaded up their whole house already, including all of Sophies toys and even her bed and crate. Poor Sophie must have thought something crazy was going on!

Anyway, Silly Sissy is just in heaven having Miss Sophie here because they are the bestest friends ever. I told Sissy last night I was going to name her Snoopy Sissy because she keeps going in their "room" and snooping around. Silly Sneaky Snoopy Sissy. That's her.

Last night Sophie and Tina went to bed and Sissy sat at the door crying... Sniffly Sissy.

Then, Dad told Sophie that she didn't need to move, she could just stay and live here wih us. Um....HEELLLLOOOO......
EXCUSE me, no one asked my opinon and all I need is another silly girl around here. I have a hard enough time as it is. Not really, I do love Sophie, but I pretend not to. But, I also know she will be moving, no chance of me having to live with two girls anyway.

Today Mom and Tina took all of us out for a walk. I pretended to not want to go, but it was fun, and I showed those silly girls how it should be done. I walked real nice while they did their jumping bean walk and rabbit jumps. I did get in a bit of trouble for barking at two kids. I dont' think I should get in trouble because I was just protecting everyone! Geez.

But, anyway, I just wanted to tell you all my thoughts. Have a good day!

Love, Solemn Sammy

Mom said it was time for me and Sissy to go see Megan, our groomer. Here is what we looked like before...poor little orphans that we looked like for sure:

See how much hair I have, it makes me look fat! I'm not fat, just have fluffy hair, I swear!

And Sissy is sure looking kinda ratty too.

And ... now...

Don't I look great?

And here is Silly Sissy:

A Day in the Life...

Work yesterday involved moving old computers to storage for future recycling. We did two trailer loads plus two pickup loads worth! I figure that qualified as my weight lifting for the day! Don't you agree?

Last night after work, I took the dogs on a walk; I couldn't resist Sissy any longer...every day she has been wanting to go, and the last time I took them, they still got pretty wet and muddy. But, it was a nice day, so when she did her daily ritual of pulling out her coat and dragging it around looking pitiful, I gave in and off we went! It was nice to walk, I had been battling a headache all day, so it was good to get out in the air. Then, I attended my WW meeting, and we ate supper.

I had just curled up on the couch, when Tina came by and we decided instead to go to the girls basketball game. It was fun and we enjoyed it. It, unfortunately, was their
second loss of the season, but very exciting. Tina also wanted to see the dance team perform at half time, and they sure did a great job as well! She teaches dance to some of the members. So, I had more fun last night than I thought I would. That was a nice surprise!

It started snowing last night, and is still snowing. It is beautiful outside right now! It appears we may have some more good sledding weather...any takers?

How to Walk in Snow

Look how Sissy picks up her paw in the snow. I found this photo amongst my "Snow Dogs" photos from our last snow storm and had to laugh at the way she was walking in the snow!

Poor Silly Sissy!

Lonesome Dogs

So...I was on ANOTHER road trip for work, another workshop. Man, I should be getting smart someday, huh? Sissy and Sammy stayed home alone as hubby had to be gone as well, so Tina and Sophie ended up spending the night at our house to keep them company! She said Sammy wouldn't come sleep in the room with them, though, he hid out in our room. Probably either in the closet or his other favorite hiding place amongst the bed pillows. :-)

They were pretty happy to see me after my one night away!

Sammy Sighs

Hi...it's me Sammy....see me here in the snow. I love it, except it was really cold out and that hurt my paws!

Sophie visited this weekend, and so we Yorkies outnumbered the humans! Above is Sophie "talking" to the neighbor dog, Sheba. Silly Sissy is already running back inside.

Sissy

Sissy on Thanksgiving day:

She is too cute.
