The Forgetful Dwarf

I tell you, I am the forgetful dwarf (remember the 7 Dwarfs of Menopause?)

I seem to be losing everything. I can leave a room and two minutes later, I can NOT for the life of me find what was in my hand or remember where I was going. It's kinda scary, don't you think????

Seven Dwarfs of Menopause

This is a little blurry, but the seven dwarfs of Menopause are: Itchy, Bitchy, Sweaty, Sleepy, Bloated, Forgetful and Psycho.

I am pretty sure I have most of that covered.

Itchy...Yep
Bitchy..Oh, Boy...YEP
Sweaty...Sometimes
Sleepy...(When I'm not supposed to be, but when I want to sleep, I can't ... which leads to Bitchy again)
Bloated...Yepper
Forgetful...What, oh ya, Yep
Psycho...um, um...yea!

And I could add an 8th dwarf...CLUMSY

So, that pretty much sums up how I feel today.

Curel Lotion Trial

I tried the Curel lotion that I wrote about in a recent post. I guess it works ok. Using it does help with the itchy crawlies---and helps with dry skin. As for some other menopausal symptoms such as crankiness to the heat and impatient (sometimes even hostile) feelings towards spouse and others----well, it doesn't help that. But, sometimes a glass of wine (or two) does.

Disclaimer...I don't think the lotion said anything about moods! :0)

Let's Try This

For all my "menopausal" friends, blogging friends and local ones, who can relate...let's try this:
It says it combats the three symptoms of menopausal skin: itchiness, dryness and loss of elasticity. Hey, it is worth a try, and you can get a free sample by going to their site. I sure signed up for my free sample. I'll let you know what I think!

"The List"

Neck
Right Shoulder
Left Elbow
Left Thumb
Joints on right Hand
Left Wrist
Lower Back
Lower Front
Both hips, especially right
Both knees
Bruise on Right Shin
Ankles
Arches on both Feet
Joint on Right toe

This is what hurts right now. Pathetic, huh?

I probably need to use my new body lotion, or have a glass of wine, or take some Ibuprofen?

HOT FLASHES?

OMG! Do any of you watch "The New Adventures of Old Christine:"? Last night, she was diagnosed as perimenopausal. It was such a hoot (Yep, I still like that word..hoot, hoot, hoot)....well anyway, if you didn't catch it, you maybe can go to the website and catch a video. Or catch it on reruns. I sure was hoping that Mental Pause Mama was watching it. Both my husband and I were laughing.

At one point, she was cleaning in her bra because she was so hot...and her poor brother had to deal with loads of menopausal symptoms. Here is a synopsis of the episode:

Season 3: Episode 10: One and a Half Men
Original airdate: 03/31/08Christine panics when her doctor tells her that she may be perimenopausal. She starts to use Barb's prescription cream which leaves her feeling a lot better...and a lot ballsier since it's a testosterone cream. When Lindsay and Marly give Ritchie a hard time at his first cotillion, Christine refuses to take this one lying down. Jason Alexander guest stars.

Another Day

Yep, another night, no sleep. Oh, well, who needs it? It snowed beautifully today..the kind my oldest two daughters like---the snow globe snow. It was beautiful outside.

I finally got this horrible, awful, no good, stupid big upload done on my computer ... to the State. It was a long, hard road, but I finally did it. Maybe that's a good sign for the rest of the week?

Have a great evening...and sweet dreams!

Sleep Deprived Update

Today I am back in the tired mode. Did my usual toss/turn/ flip/ sigh/etc last night, just like in my post a couple days ago. Friday night I took a couple Advil PM. I didn't go to sleep very quickly, but I was sleeping pretty darned good come 5:30 am. Saturday morning! The alarm went off, my husband was going to work overtime that day. Being the good wife, I got up a bit before he left, fed the dogs, etc. Then, went back to bed. He was out scraping his windshield. All of a sudden, he was yelling "HEY". I jumped and screamed. He said..I have been trying to tell you I am taking your truck, I broke my windshield wiper. Man, I jumped...I must have been really sound asleep when he tried to talk to me. That was strange, considering I had been up and around not even five minutes earlier....yikes! Then, I fell back asleep, which was strange after being startled, and slept clear until 8:30...wow. I had a hair appointment, and was groggy all thru that. So, maybe it took like twelve hours for my Advil PM to take effect, or I was just really tired? Last night, didn't have any more, so didnt' take any...so just still tired. It is really cold out, and sleep sounds so inviting....
